Roblox speed pad script

A pad that gives a player a burst of speed: a boost strip on a track, a shortcut in an obby, a reward at the end of a jump.

Where it goes

  1. 1In Roblox Studio, add a flat Part where the boost should be and turn on Anchored.
  2. 2Hover over the Part in the Explorer, press + and choose Script.
  3. 3Delete what's in the new Script, paste this in, and press Play to run across it.

How it works

  • Touched runs when anything touches the pad, and GetPlayerFromCharacter checks that it's a player.
  • boosted remembers who already has the boost, so touching it again doesn't start a second timer.
  • A respawn gives a new character at normal speed, so setting the old one back does no harm.

Make it yours

Make it faster or longer
Change BOOST_SPEED and SECONDS at the top. Roblox's normal walking speed is 16.
Give it a price
Check for a pass before the boost: the game pass script shows how.
Want something more? The script generator can write it: “A pad that makes players run twice as fast for 5 seconds, with a sound and a trail while it lasts”
