How to make a game like Steal a Brainrot on Roblox
Steal a Brainrot mixes a tycoon with capture the flag. You buy characters off a conveyor, they earn money in your base, and anyone can run in and take them. That last part is why it's so loud: everyone in the server has a reason to watch everyone else.
Why it works
Players buy characters off a conveyor, earn money from them in their base, and steal rarer ones from each other.
- You earn while you stand still. Each character pays out over time, so the numbers always go up.
- Other players are the game. Stealing turns a quiet tycoon into a chase, and it needs no levels or enemies.
- Everything can be lost. A rare character in your base is something to brag about and something to guard.
1Start on a map
An open middle with the conveyor, and bases around it, close enough that stealing is a dash. Lobbies and plazas make a good start. A finished map means your first weeks go into the game itself. Open it in Roblox Studio with File, then Open from File. Here's how, and there are free maps too.

2Build it in this order
Each step is something you can play. Stop when it's fun, and let people try it before you build the next one.
- 1A base for each player. A place to keep characters, given out when they join.
- 2The conveyor. Characters move along a belt with a price over them. Press to buy, and it walks to your base.
- 3Money over time. Each character earns a set amount a second, and the rarer it is the more it earns. Save the amount on the server, and the time they left.
- 4Stealing. Pick up someone's character, carry it home, and drop it if you're hit. Check every step on the server, or exploiters will take everything.
- 5Defense. A button that shields the base for a short time, then a wait. Traps and items come after that.
- 6Rebirth. Reset progress for better stats, for those who've reached the top. It's what keeps the game going past the first week.
3Get the scripts
These are free to copy and paste, each with where it goes:
- Roblox leaderboard scriptMoney beside each player's name, so everyone can see who to rob.
- Roblox save data scriptA starting point for saving what they own.
- Roblox shop GUI scriptTraps and items. Swap the tools for your own.
- Roblox developer product scriptItems players can buy again and again.
For what's particular to this game, ask the script generator. Press one of these to start from it:
- A conveyor belt that moves a model from one end to the other every 10 seconds, with a price over it, and a player can press it to buy it if they have enough coins
- A button in a player's base that makes a force field for 30 seconds that keeps other players out, then can't be used for 2 minutes
- A player can pick up a model from another player's base and carry it to their own, and drops it if they die on the way
4Make it yours
- Pick your own characters. Food, robots and monsters work just as well as memes, and memes go out of date.
- Change what stealing means: a heist with a timer, or a team that guards a vault together.
- Make being robbed feel less bad than it does elsewhere, like a share of what they earned. Younger players leave when they lose everything.
Don't copy it
Steal a Brainrot's name, art, music and code belong to its makers, and copying them can get your game taken down. Leaked copies and free kits are also a common place to hide backdoors, so check anything you pick up with the free backdoor scanner.
5Earn from it
Steal a Brainrot sells gear and items for its own money or for Robux. Passes for an extra slot or more income are a good start. Critics have complained that its best items are only for sale, so keep stealing fair for people who don't pay: they're who the buyers rob.
The free game pass and developer product scripts get you started, and the tax calculator works out what to charge.
6Test it and publish
Try it with friends before anyone else. Then it's File, then Publish, and an age check to release it: here's how publishing works now. For the basics of this kind of game, read how to make a Roblox tycoon.
Once it's out, show it on Forja so people can find it and play it.
Questions
Can I copy Steal a Brainrot?
Make your own game in the same style, not a copy. Nobody owns a kind of game, generally, but Steal a Brainrot's name, art, music and code belong to its makers, and they can have a copy taken down. Your own names and art are safer, and they give players a reason to pick yours.
Is there a free Steal a Brainrot kit?
Be careful with free kits and leaked copies. They're a common place to hide backdoors, which can give a stranger control of your game. Run anything like that through Forja's free backdoor scanner before you open it, or build from free scripts you can read.
What's the hardest part to build?
Stealing, because it has to be safe from exploiters. Everything that matters, like who owns what and who's carrying it, has to be decided on the server.
